2011 Philantropic Projects
Each chapter will be encouraged to perform at least one service project throughout the year After performing the project, the chapter (or individual) will fill out a form asking what the event was, how many hours they performed, who came, etc. The forms will be filled out via internet or physically on a piece of paper (the non-internet forms will have to be mailed off to the Norcal office) With each form received, the corps will tally up all the points (look for point system below) and determine the winner
During 2011 Convention, prizes will be given for:
Chapter with the most points
And individual with the most hours
Rules:
- Each project performed must be a service based project. The definition of pure service is: an act of helpful activity; help; aid. This means anything done for the wellbeing of another without the compensation of money.
- The contest will begin on January 1st, 2011 and all forms are due by November 1st, 2011.
- Individuals may go out on their own to perform service, so long as they are wearing DeMolay paraphernalia.
- A form must be filled out by each chapter/individual and signed by an advisor in order for the hours and points to count. When filling out online forms, an advisor must vouch for the info on form and confirm that it’s legitimate.
- Point system
- Each hour of service performed per person is equal to 10 points.
- Bonus points (these are not a requirement, but encouraged):
- Displaying banner at event: 3 points
- Getting recognized in newspaper/newsletter/etc: 2 points
- Wearing DeMolay paraphernalia: 1 point
- Bringing a prospect: 1 point
- Worked w/ local Bethel/Assembly: 1 point
- Performed on National Service Day (Jan. 17/Sept. 11): 1 point
- Performed during National Service Month (October): 1 point
- The chapter with the most points will win an award.
- The individual with the most hours will win an award.
